Adoption
As an attorney creating lasting legal bonds for families through adoption is a passion of mine. Adoptions in Illinois may be of unrelated children, foster children, or children related to you by blood or marriage. In certain circumstances, you may also be able to adopt an adult. Remaining sensitive to the fact that each adoption is different and will require a close evaluation of the facts and circumstances in the case in order to achieve the desired permanency for your family, it will be my honor to serve you.
Probate Estates
If your loved one has died, in many circumstances property will need to be transferred through a court-process called “probate.” The probate process is often viewed negatively, but it does not have to be complicated. My experience has qualified me to evaluate the needs of the estate to determine what you need to get the job done so that the property can be appropriately transferred.
Estate Planning
Each family will benefit greatly from a custom estate plan. Your estate plan can provide peace of mind for you and your loved ones in the event something happens to you. A comprehensive estate plan reviews each family’s values, needs, and goals, not only for their property, but for the safety of their young children or adults with disabilities.
Guardianship
There are two types of court-appointed guardians in Illinois – guardian of a minor and guardian of an adult. Guardianship can be a good way to ensure permanency for minor children in a situation where the biological parents are unable or unwilling to provide care. An adult may need a guardian to help with decisions regarding the individual’s physical care and/or finances.
Personal Injury
When you or a loved one are injured, many questions arise regarding how to make you whole again and who is financially responsible for that. Navigating the complex personal injury claims and legal system is something my firm, Bre Law is respected in our community and known for.
